How to enter Uzbekistan from Ukraine

  1. 1

    Check your passport

Make sure your Ukrainian passport has at least six months of validity from the date of arrival and one blank page for the entry stamp.

  2. 2

    Book your flight

Fly into Tashkent (TAS) or Samarkand (SKD) — both have modern international terminals. Domestic flights and high-speed Afrosiyob trains connect directly to Bukhara and Khiva.

  3. 3

    Fill in the arrival card

You'll receive a two-part migration card at immigration or on the plane. Fill both halves, keep the stamped stub — you'll surrender it when you leave.

  4. 4

    Register at your hotel

Migration registration is required within 3 working days. Hotels handle it automatically; keep the small paper slips you receive.

What to bring at the border

  • Valid passport (6+ months from arrival, 1 blank page)
  • Arrival migration card (given at immigration)
  • Proof of accommodation (booking confirmation)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Sufficient funds for your stay (USD in cash is widely accepted)

Extending your stay & registration

Migration registration. Every foreign visitor must be registered at their accommodation within 3 working days of arrival. Hotels and licensed guest-houses handle this automatically at check-in — keep the small paper slips they give you until departure. Airbnb hosts should register through the e-mehmon online portal.

Extensions. As a CIS national, there's no hard cap on the length of stay, but you must remain registered at your address and comply with residence regulations if you stay beyond 90 days.

If you overstay. Fines are typically a few hundred US dollars per week of overstay, plus a possible short-term entry ban. Airline staff at Tashkent airport usually check visa validity at check-in.

Overstays trigger fines (typically several hundred USD per week) and a possible short-term entry ban. Airline check-in staff at Tashkent airport usually verify visa validity before boarding.
